Chemeketa Community College’s visiting author for the Fall is acclaimed Oregon writer Leni Zumas. She is the author of two novels “Red Clocks” and “The Listeners” as well as a collection of short stories, “Farewell Navigator.”

Zumas is a graduate of Brown University and the MFA Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She directs the MFA And BFA programs at Portland State University.

While visiting Chemeketa Zumas will give a public reading on Tuesday, October 30th, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm in the Art Gallery. She will also conduct a writing workshop Saturday, November 3rd, from 1:00 – 5:00 in the Art Gallery. The workshop is designed to provide students an opportunity for experiment, discovery and invention in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. There is a $75 fee for the workshop, payable online or at the door.
