James Anello: Impressions showcases pressed plants and highlights their traditional Native American uses. James Anello, a member of the Siletz tribe, was born and raised in Salem, has a degree in Anthropology from Eastern Oregon University, and has a life-long familiarity with western Oregon’s ecology. James preserves plants using a microwave plant press, which shortens the drying time and locks in the green chlorophyll in the leaves and stems.
