The beauty of film, the unique personal nuances of its development, and the energy between subject and photographer are presented in Dean Hanson’s show “Portraits.”  He says, “This exhibition portrays people that have entered my life over the years… sometimes for a moment in time, sometimes becoming lifelong friends. John Singer Sargent once said, “Every time I paint a portrait, I lose a friend.” I am happy to say that I have made more friends than I have lost. Included in this exhibit are some of the photographs most loved by the subjects, as well as some of the most hated.”  Hours:  Tues-Sat, 11:0am-5:00pm.  River Gallery 184 S. Main St.  Independence
