‘Changing Keys,’ is an exhibit of instrument parts transformed into furniture, folk art pieces, and jewelry. In the process of deconstructing two unusable pianos, artists Linda Jacobson and Genie Stewart acknowledge the craftsmanship required for the creation of the original instruments. Starting with two old, never to make music again, pianos and some miscellaneous extra pieces, the idea was to make a desk, a bar, and some tables. Projects evolve.  There are those things, and many random others inspired by the components themselves. The work started in October 2016.  Jacobson was especially drawn to the keys, while Stewart gravitated to the pieces and parts of the action.  The result is an explosion of recycled, upcycled creativity.  Hours: 11am-5pm.  Lunaria Gallery 113 N.
