Robert Canaga describes his approach to his work in a unique way. He says “I’m a purist when it comes to color. I carry precise colors in my mind’s eye. I’m fascinated by color frequencies and how those frequencies relate to each other.” This approach is evident when viewing the Eugene based artist’s vibrantly colored landscapes. His work, large oil paintings on wax and linen mounts, is on exhibit at the Oregon State Capitol Galleria from August 23 to October 20. The pieces were inspired by his trips to vineyards throughout Oregon. Free. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. For information call 503-986-1388 or visit www.oregoncapitol.com and click on the events page.
