artPICKSWTEXT2The historic Brown House will host a quilt show of local handcrafted quilts Friday and Saturday August 12 and 13th from 10am-3pm. Raffle tickets will be on sale for a beautiful quilt. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5. The drawing will be at the Brown House tea on October 22, 2016.  The house was built by Charles Enoch Brown in 1902-03, and is the most significant surviving Queen Anne in Stayton. The house was saved from destruction by the Santiam Heritage Foundation, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The show is free, although donations to support the Brown House maintenance and restoration are welcome.
