artPICKSWTEXT2Everyone knows about the  State Fair’s range of entertainment, animals,  concerts, carnival games, rides, exhibits and food. For art lovers there is also a broad range of creative work to enjoy. The Fair’s Creative Living area features 20 divisions dedicated to crafts and hobbies, with both juried competitions and exhibits of  collections.  Paper arts includes juried exhibits in various card making techniques, quilling, scrapbooking, and other paper focused arts. Fabric arts are represented by exhibits of needlework and clothing, quilting, spinning, and weaving. There is also the popular Fine Art, Photography, and Calligraphy exhibit, which attracts talented artists from around the state. This year the Fair is offering the Oregon Photography Exhibition, which features entries from multiple processes including: Digital, Traditional Film, Alternative Processes, Polaroid Transfers, Hand-colored Photographs, and Platinum/Palladium.
