artPICKSWTEXT2Silverton’s popular annual festival includes a line-up of family-friendly small-town activities including Homer’s Parade, 10-K Fun Run, annual Classic Car Cruise-In, the annual “Davenport Races,” and annual crafts fair, food court and music stage  Also, the Main Street Coffee and Bistro in partnership with the City of Silverton will host a special exhibition of eight original Davenport cartoons.  Davenport, a native Oregonian, had no formal art training but became one of the highest paid political cartoonists in the world. He is known for drawings satirizing Gilded  Age and Progressive Era figures.
