Karen Maier, a photographer from Bend, will be guiding participants through an introduction to macro photography, how to use equipment to better your shots, how to create a strong composition, image focusing techniques, and the best way to use lighting to your advantage. The workshop includes time to wander the garden for photos and culminates with a class photo-sharing session. Karen is experienced in taking macro-shots with equipment as simple as a camera phone and as advanced as your D-SLR. Everyone is encouraged to come learn how to use their own equipment to take the best shots! There will be a 30-minute break for meal and participants may either bring a sack lunch or have their meal provided for a $10 extra fee. Reservations required for provided meals. Equipment Required: Camera—anything that takes pictures! (Remember to charge it and bring extra batteries!) Empty Memory Card—makes photos easier to find during classroom photo sharing! Cord—if needed to view photos on laptop or iPad. Tickets: $45: Workshop | $55: Workshop + Meal • The Oregon Garden • 879 W Main St, Silverton
