Human Rights and Relations Specialist Marilyn Johnston says they are looking for people who are passionate to serve, especially those with expertise in victim assistance; who speak languages other than English, or who are members of an ethnic or racial minority that contributes to the diversity of Salem.
“Our work will never be finished. It’s just one more way to make sure the community protects us all when racism rears its ugly head,” Johnston said.
The One Community Initiative was started two years ago and its primary mission is to promote a greater understanding and awareness of discrimination and intolerance in our community.
