With 50 years of success, the Oregon S ymphony Association in Salem (OSAS) has reason to celebrate! The anniversary is commemorated with a gala dinner on September 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the Salem Conference Center and the public is invited to participate. The OSAS promises an evening of good fun, good food, good friends and GREAT music.
Executive Director Nancy J. Stockdale emphasizes that this event is not just another fundraiser. It is intended to be a celebration and thank you to the Salem community for its 50 years of patronage. The evening features Music Director and Conductor of the Oregon Symphony Carlos Kalmer as the keynote speaker. The theme of the evening, “Heart of Gold,” was coined from Carlos when he said, “Our goal is to touch the heart and soul of every Oregonian.”

The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour including hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar, and music by the Bush Elementary School Marimbandas. The Oregon Symphony String Quartet will then perform a pre-dinner concert. Dinner is served at 7:30 p.m., followed by Kalmar’s address to the audience at 8:30 p.m. The Bassoon Brothers conclude the evening with a performance at 9:00 p.m.

Individual seats can be purchased for $50 per person. A table of ten seats is $500 and may be purchased by calling (503) 364-0149 or by e-mailing OSASassist@aol.com. Reservations must be received by September 14. For more information or reservation forms, visit www.orsymphony.org/salem/index.html
